A bill, House Bill 1780, that would give public school teachers a raise has passed by a vote of  94-0 on Thursday. This bill gives teachers a raise of  $1200 across the board and this is in addition to the pay raise given during the 2018 legislative session.  This bill helps Oklahoma get closer to that goal.  House Republicans have made a commitment to our teachers and will follow through. Better pay not only shows our teachers that they are valued, but it also helps us recruit and attract new teachers to the profession and retain the experienced teachers we already have. This raise is going to the Senate and moving forward  a key part of  Govenor Kevin Stitt’s first- year agenda.,

Our students need additional dollars dedicated to the classroom for textbooks and better technology. House Republications have several bills coming down the road to help get that done this session.
